GLS – Grammar, logic, and style. We focus on these core skills across reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Join us for preparation for the IELTS, TOEFL, BULATS, and TOEIC exams. We also offer English tutoring on higher level exams (the GRE, GMAT, and LSAT), and the SAT and AP (variety of subjects).
Course list
We offer instruction and practice in the following exams:
IELTS
IELTS speaking, writing, reading, and listening. We also focus on language issues (vocabulary, grammar), logic (to organize your writing and speaking answers), and style (to imppress your examiner with your skillful use of English).
TOEFL
As the TOEFL is an integrated exam that emphasizes listening skills and the organization of information into a written or spoken answer, the GLS approach works particularly well. Grammar, logic, and style help you to integrate the listening with the reading to come up with a super response!
TOEIC
We guide you through the specific business-related language of the TOEIC. This business language includes idiomatic expressions.
You will also learn the punctuation and other aspects of grammar that will provide you with a top score.
BULATS
The BULATS follows the IELTS format, but applies to business English. We will give you solid foundations in business English and in test-taking skills.
You will focus on business idioms, and receive practice in presenting marketing and business plans as required by the exam.
GMAT & GRE
Each of these exams test very challenging vocabulary in high-level readings. We will help you learn to navigate these readings. We also support your logical thinking for both the GRE and GMAT as these apply to the writing test.
Both exams require a high level of grammar and logic.
LSAT
We support your learning of legal language and help you to break down the LSAT reading sections. We also help you to improve your writing so that you can craft winning essays.
SAT (English sections)
We provide practice in the basic grammar and thinking skills required on the SAT English sections. This includes much practice in the vocabulary.
AP English Lit & AP English Lang
You will learn the challenging vocabulary and test-taking techniques for either exam.
For AP Lit we will also focus on the technical jargon and analysis of literature. For AP Lang you will acquire more than enough of the vocabulary to achieve a super result.
